The Select Board accepted a $7,800 Charles Schwab grant to rewire electrical systems at the library and placed the funds into a designated library account. The board also approved a motion to have Mark McKenna reinstall old multi-use court fencing for approximately $1,000 so the Recreation Committee can block the court when sealcoating occurs; McKenna will also provide a proposal for new fencing for the playground area.
Town Clerk Melinda Averill requested use of the front-left room at Town Hall to lock up election materials; Averill noted, “Office space limited and election materials need to be locked up.” The board approved the Town Clerk’s use of the front storage area for election materials and agreed to notify the Common Folk (a community group) that they will need to find alternate storage. The board also discussed a visitor request to launch a drone in Andover; Frederick Detheridge said the town has no policy and that the operator must comply with state and federal laws.
