Select Board declines to accept treasurer's resignation, schedules training and job reviews

The Select Board considered a motion to accept the resignation of Treasurer Amber Cooper effective July 1 but the motion failed. Amber Cooper told the board she intended to continue working part time, saying, “my plan was to come in a day or two a week.” Chair Brian Mills recommended not accepting the resignation immediately and the board agreed to invite Sherry Donovan to discuss training needs for the position before any resignation is finalized.
Separately, the board scheduled a job review for Deputy Treasurer Tara Robison at 5:00 p.m. next week and a review for highway employee Donny Brann at 5:30 p.m. next week. The board also re-nominated Brian Mills to remain chair and agreed the two current select board members will split the pay for the vacant third seat 50/50 until a new member is appointed.
