Elko County opts into Nevada’s statewide ballot‑printing contract (ProVote)

Clerk Vicky explained the Secretary of State’s new statewide ballot contract using ProVote would result in the state paying for ballot stock and could be cheaper for the county.
"If we go through the statewide contract, it's actually a little bit cheaper for us to use the vendor," Vicky said, adding the state will process invoices directly and there is not a separate county contract to sign.
Commissioner Bridal moved to authorize the clerk to opt in to the statewide contract and the motion carried following a roll call vote. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about shipping and whether the vendor prints and mails from within Nevada; Vicky confirmed ProVote drops ballots out of Nevada and the arrangement reduces local costs.
The clerk will proceed with the opt‑in and notify the Secretary of State per the commission’s direction.
