County staff propose active-shooter, bomb-threat procedures; discuss repurposed county vehicles

Eric Jackson, who oversees security at the county building, reported there had not been recent active-shooter or bomb-threat training or recent fire-alarm drills. Jackson presented a poster summarizing procedures for those events so offices would have an on-site reference.
The board also discussed vehicles returned to county use: a donated van could be used for emergencies or as a courtesy car and a returned pickup could reenter the general fleet for county tasks. Commissioners asked staff to consider how the vehicles would be assigned for emergency response and day-to-day county needs.
