Amanda Worthington reported the final cost for fairgrounds sprinkler repair was $13,181.17, an increase of $3,524.57 over the prior estimate due to unforeseen work on a drain line. Chairman Ben Crouch moved to approve the $3,524.57 additional funding; the motion passed unanimously.
Worthington also asked permission to hire a temporary worker; she disclosed the candidate is a family member and said HR and legal counsel had approved the temporary appointment. The board approved the temporary hire with conditions: the position ends June 2026, drug testing is required in the event of any work-related accident, and oversight and accounting responsibilities will be shared between Worthington and the board.
