James Woodward, Post Adjutant for American Legion Hall Post 30, addressed the Board to ask why his post had stopped receiving monthly county payments. He said the post has conducted fundraisers to cover utility bills and described low membership and attendance at some events.
Commissioner Mark E. Bolduc said the Board had voted last year to stop payments. Prosecutor Misseldine advised Mr. Woodward to contact the State American Legion and have them verify the post's status with the prosecutor's office. The Board told Mr. Woodward that "no monthly payments will begin until the next fiscal budget year" unless the post's status is verified. The clerk was asked to send Mr. Woodward minutes showing the prior vote to stop payments for Post 30.
The exchange produced direction to the veteran organization rather than an immediate payment or reversal of the prior Board action.
