During public comment at the Feb. 24 meeting, Jack McLain said he supports the Friends of the Dawn Theater managing the venue and criticized the length of the management search, saying that the Friends should have approached the board earlier. "[McLain] thinks that management of the Dawn Theater by the Friends is a great idea" and expressed frustration with perceived wasted time and resources.
Mary Wolfram provided an informal theater update and said the Hillsdale Renaissance Folk Festival scheduled for March 7, 2026 has "approximately 200 tickets sold so far" and that tickets are available via a QR code on flyers. McLain inquired about alternative ways to access tickets for people facing technology barriers; the board did not record a definitive alternative in the minutes and asked staff to consider access options.
