The Dawn Theater Governance Board voted to approve a rental request from Copernican Media, a Hillsdale College–affiliated student media venture, during its Feb. 24 meeting. Mary Wolfram said these rentals are attractive because they require "low-effort" from the Friends and produce revenue without significant wear or trash.
Chair James Brandon said he is familiar with the Hillsdale College student involved and described the project as a "serious, professional media venture." Tim Sullivan moved to approve the event; Felicia Finch seconded the motion and the board carried it. The board briefly discussed when events require formal approval and who has discretion to approve small rentals going forward.
