Commission approves two subdivision plats in Sellersville and on County Road 62

The Geneva County Commission approved two proposed subdivision plats at its June 8 meeting: Whispering Pines, a four-frontage-lot subdivision on County Road 79 in Sellersville, and Bailey Hills on County Road 62. Engineer Justin Barfield presented the plats and both were approved by separate motions that passed 3-0.
Barfield said the engineering office is working with three additional developers and recommended the commission review subdivision regulations regarding a 60-foot minimum width requirement. He also provided routine updates on road maintenance and staffing: the department lost a motor grader operator on the east end, has four full-time employees, one part-time and one trainee, and promoted an Equipment Operator I who completed CDL school and obtained a Class A license to Equipment Operator II.
The approvals were procedural votes on plats; no conditions or sureties were recorded in the meeting minutes. The commission did not adopt changes to subdivision regulations at this meeting but directed staff to prepare materials for future review.
