Geneva County hires auditor to complete FY2023 financials; audit scheduling pending

County Administrator Cindy Williams told the commission that Harris Solutions is anticipated to finish the FY2023 financial statements the week after next and that the County Audit Director will schedule the FY2023 audit once those statements are complete.
Williams said Ms. Glenda Baxter, a retired auditor now providing county financial services, agreed to take Geneva County as a client. Commissioner Weston Spivey moved to enter into an agreement with Ms. Baxter to complete the county financials; Commissioner Jeff Hatcher seconded the motion and it passed 4-0.
The commission asked staff to notify the County Audit Director when the financials are complete so the audit can be scheduled. No dollar amount for the engagement was recorded in the minutes.
