County leaders on June 8 signed a contract with Outdoor Aluminum for new bleachers at the Farm Center arena and issued a Notice to Proceed effective that day, giving the contractor 90 days to complete the work. The commission also approved a $23,000 quote from Southeast Construction to supply additional concrete needed for the bleacher installation.
Chairman Toby Seay confirmed the Notice to Proceed had been signed and asked staff to forward a copy to Outdoor Aluminum. Commissioner Bart Wilks moved to accept the Southeast Construction quote of $23,000 for the concrete work; Commissioner Todd Brannon seconded and the vote was 3-0. Chairman Seay said the run of construction and panel installation will inform event scheduling; commissioners agreed to offer a date to a Pro Rodeo circuit after Jan. 1 to ensure bleachers and fence panels are in place.
Administrator Cindy Williams noted one month of unusually higher utility usage—about a 25% spike—likely related to lights being left on during testing in the arena. The commission directed staff to coordinate with contractors on panel diagrams and scheduling but did not approve additional utility funding at this meeting.
