State trooper urges Geneva County to update speed-limit signs on several rural roads

State Trooper Zack Jackson told the Geneva County Commission that several highly traveled county roads lack adequate speed-limit signage and asked the county to update signs to give motorists adequate warning.
Trooper Jackson listed specific locations he recommended for signs, including County Road 4 at County Road 53 (no signage heading east or west once turning onto County Road 4), parts of Coffee Springs Road, and the Sellersville community near County Road 19 where 35 mph signs are old and a 45 mph sign exists east of County Road 19.
Engineer Justin Barfield said Road & Bridge crews will check the areas and asked Trooper Jackson to contact the department directly with future concerns. No formal vote was required; the engineer will evaluate signage conditions and prioritize work as appropriate.
