Jeff Hubbard, the county HR director, presented the proposed Commissioner budget for 2026. The total budget was $5,158,842, a 2.2% increase from the prior year. Hubbard said the proposal includes a 3% increase for salaries, PERF and Social Security and assumes the same $230,000 group insurance allocation in the LIT account used in the prior cycle.
Commissioner Matt Reedy moved to approve the 2026 proposed Commissioner budget; Commissioner Drew Storey seconded. The motion carried 3–0.
Why it matters: the budget funds Commissioner operations and personnel costs; the 3% personnel adjustment and insurance assumptions affect county fiscal planning going into the next year.
