Director of Maintenance and Operations Luke Brand told trustees on Sept. 3 that the district completed semi‑annual bleacher inspections at the high school, repaired the second pool heater, and is monitoring pool alkalinity. He said irrigation controllers at the high school will be replaced with upgraded units that include a 10‑year warranty after issues with older controllers.
Brand reported HVAC service calls related to aging units at several schools and noted difficulty sourcing parts for an 18‑ to 19‑year‑old motor at Cuesta. He said warranty items remain from recent classroom projects and that water refilling stations have been installed across schools. Brand also said a planned Montessori refurbishment is being scoped and will be brought to the board for approval once the scope is finalized. He added there are currently no staffing openings in M&O.
Trustees asked clarifying questions about replacement timing and warranty scopes, and Brand said he will present project scopes at upcoming facilities committee meetings.
