In his superintendent's report, district leadership said construction crews were pouring footings and preparing foundations for new buildings, and that walls had been pre-set so the project can go vertical quickly after delays caused by state review.
During follow-up, a trustee asked whether recent federal legislation modifying solar tax credits applies to the district's solar installations. The superintendent said the state now requires solar on new schools and that existing k–8 solar projects were installed through a partnership with a power company; staff said they were not well informed about federal tax-credit particulars and a trustee observed that school districts, which do not pay taxes, generally would not benefit directly from tax credits.
The board requested further conversations about three schools and any possible incentives, and staff said they would bring more information as it becomes available.
