The Lammersville Joint Unified School District board approved a purchase/lease agreement for eight portable classrooms from Mobile Modular to support the high school's schedule and capacity needs.
Staff said the board had previously directed an analysis on whether to continue leasing or to purchase portable units. The recommendation to pursue purchase was based on current needs to "protect the 7 period day," while staff noted that portables are not presumed permanent and could be relocated to other sites as needs evolve.
Trustees approved the action on a motion by Trustee Venita Daniel with a second from Trustee David Pambo; the measure passed by voice vote with five ayes and no nos.
Staff emphasized that purchase would provide stability for the coming year but allow flexibility for future reallocation.
