Wickland Elementary Associated Student Body leaders told the Lammersville Joint Unified School District board they plan multiple student-focused events this year, including dances, spirit weeks and middle-school rallies aimed at increasing student engagement.
An ASB representative said the school's biggest fundraiser, the "Splash-a-thon," attracted "over 750 people" and produced substantial funds for each grade. The students listed leadership positions and upcoming activities: publicity, spirit, visual arts and secretary roles; dances such as a winter formal and a dinner dance; and themes for spirit weeks including red ribbon week and inclusion week.
The students also described current sports offerings and coaches for grades 6–8 volleyball and cross country, and sketched ideas to expand dances and organize middle-school rallies. Board members thanked the students and invited them to remain for the rest of the meeting or to return to their extracurriculars.
The presentation concluded with applause and photos as families were directed to meet students in the parking lot.
