Brown County leaders agree to seek more public input on Comprehensive Plan, set May 26 follow-up

At a joint meeting on April 28, 2026, the Brown County Board of Commissioners and the Brown County Area Plan Commission agreed to seek more public input on revisions to the Brown County Comprehensive Plan and to continue the discussion at the APC’s next regular meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
Commissioner Tim Clark said he wanted "more public input before a decision is made," and Commissioner Kevin Patrick proposed a numeric outreach target, saying he would like "at least 10 to 20% participation from the Community." APC members asked clarifying questions about what the Board hoped to accomplish, and several audience members suggested changes they would like included in the plan. Director Kayla Robertson asked whether the meeting should continue next month; both bodies agreed to reconvene the discussion on May 26.
No formal decisions on plan content were made at the April 28 session. The joint meeting served to frame outreach priorities and to give commissioners guidance on the public-engagement level they want to see before taking final action.
