The sheriff's office reported a completed background check with no objection, but commissioners raised statutory concerns about distance from Liberty Peak School and whether a formerly mobile vendor now operating from a fixed location should qualify for a catering license rather than a full bar/restaurant license.
Because commissioners requested clarification of code language and legal staff said they would check proximity and statutory definitions before a final decision, the motion on the license was tabled for further review. One commissioner said the county will also check consistency with Elko City code language and asked staff to report back.
