Commissioners approve appropriations, approve travel and grant small reimbursements
Summary
The board approved a $6,000 Sheriff training reallocation, a $1,000 CDBG administrative appropriation, a $9,000 additional Law Enforcement Trust equipment appropriation, authorized travel for Auditor Brenda Mossbarger (not to exceed $95) and Department of Job & Family Services staff travel and emergency reimbursements.
The commissioners approved several appropriation and travel items at the March 2 meeting. By motion, $6,000 was moved from Sheriff supplies to Sheriff training (fund 1001). The Board also appropriated $1,000 to CDBG Allocation '23 administration (account 1477, 24750090) and approved an additional appropriation of $9,000 for Law Enforcement Trust equipment (account 1163, 21050012). All motions carried with Commissioner Garland absent.
Travel and training requests were approved as presented. Fayette County Auditor Brenda Mossbarger was authorized to attend the County Auditor's Southwest District meeting in Dayton on March 20, 2026 with county payment not to exceed $95. Under Department of Job & Family Services requests, the board authorized payment for Juli Thacker to attend New Director training in Columbus (March 23–24, 2026; not to exceed $398) and approved emergency home-visit reimbursements for Ashlee Ward (Chillicothe visit, Feb. 24; up to $51) and Becca Ratliff (Dayton visit, Feb. 26; up to $66). Approvals were signed by the Director or designee Faye Williamson where indicated.
