Residents press Clark County officials on Sloopy Solar impacts, bald eagle nests and broadband gaps

Diana Daniels asked commissioners to be cautious about large developments and raised concerns about precedent from other states. Mary Adkins said she had attended the March 10 public hearing on the Sloopy Solar project and asked whether the county had examined local wildlife impacts; she said she "feels the solar farm will impact the bald eagle nests." Terry Adkins noted they lack broadband at their residence and Commissioner Patterson encouraged citizens to report addresses so the county could follow up.
County Administrator Jennifer Hutchinson confirmed the county held a March 10 public hearing on the zoning change and said "the vote by the city commissioners will be April 7." Hutchinson offered to obtain residents' addresses to check broadband availability and follow up after the meeting.
