Resident praises new library addition, says renovations funded by individuals and Friends of the Library

Ruth Yorty of 407 Sunset Lane asked the council to note the completion of a new northwest addition to the Marshalltown public library and encouraged residents to visit the expanded meeting-room space.
"They have so many meeting rooms there," Yorty said, describing spaces suited for small groups and larger gatherings. She told the council the renovations were paid for by individuals and by a group called Friends of the Library and thanked the city for its ongoing financial support of the library.
The mayor and council acknowledged the renovation and Yorty’s invitation to the public to view the new space; no formal action was taken during public comment.
