Board approves contracts for K‑9 services, a behavior analyst and two hybrid trucks

At its Nov. 5 meeting the Lammersville governing board approved several procurement and contract items aimed at safety, special education support and operations.

The board approved resolution 25‑26‑06 to join a San Joaquin County Office of Education consortium for explosives detection canine services after staff recounted a prior incident in which the district had to wait for a K‑9 unit from Sacramento. Staff said the consortium will improve access and response times; trustees approved the resolution on a roll call vote with five ayes.

Trustees also approved a contract with Moonshine Consultants, Inc. to provide a board‑certified behavior analyst for the 2025–26 school year. The staff presentation listed the contract total as $112,440 to replace a resigned analyst and noted the hire will provide districtwide coverage. The motion to approve the contract passed unanimously.

Finally, the board approved the purchase of two Ford Maverick hybrid trucks for maintenance and operations/transportation, not to exceed $75,000. Staff said the vehicles will be capitalized and depreciated over eight years and that developer fees will fund the purchase. Trustees asked staff to indicate capitalized purchases in future staff reports; the motion carried with five ayes.

All three items were presented as staff recommendations and passed without recorded opposition.
