Hansen Elementary ASB students showcase spirit, new programs

Hansen Elementary’s ASB officers told the Lammersville Joint Unified School District board about a year of new activities and student-led programs. "We are Peter Hansen Elementary. We are the home of the Tigers," said Sarah Chondepley, ASB president, as students reviewed rallies, a trunk-or-treat board-game contest and a newly formed dance team.
Principal Michelle Bautista introduced the students and highlighted that Hansen had been named a California Distinguished School. Students said a suggestion box, launched this year, generated "100 plus" submissions in its first week and produced several events, including monthly lunchtime rallies and a Ruby Bridges Walk-to-School observance. Board members praised the presentation and asked about performance plans; the students said the dance team will have a March performance and will also appear in the school talent show.
Trustees commended the school’s engagement strategies and the emphasis on student voice. The board received the presentation with applause and had no follow-up action tied to the report.
