District outlines maintenance fixes, Palm Bell construction progress and raised-crosswalk plan covered by county

The district’s maintenance and operations director updated the board on building and grounds work across the district.
Director LeGrand reported a repaired solar leak at a pool and said state inspectors had conducted unannounced elevator inspections that flagged issues in the high-school C Building and Costa D Building; service tickets have been submitted to the elevator contractor. Construction at Palm Bell Elementary has progressed "vertical" with walls going up and the A-B building slabs scheduled; crews will continue through weather permitting.
LeGrand described a raised-crosswalk proposal from County Public Works to slow speeding in front of Lammersville Elementary; neighbors agreed to the design and the county will cover all installation costs, meaning no charge to the district. He also described ongoing work to reseed athletic fields, install new irrigation controls, order additional bottle-filling stations pending board approval, and install charcoal filters on vent pipes to mitigate a localized sewer smell while inspectors complete their report.
The director said staff had dug out a partially clogged storm drain and were coordinating with engineers and elevator contractors; he also flagged a few remaining warranty and HVAC concerns at new buildings and said the district will continue to track and resolve them.
