Lammersville students honored for perfect CAASPP scores as district touts top regional science ranking

Assistant Superintendent Sharp opened the meeting by recognizing students who earned perfect CAASPP (CAST) scores across English language arts, math and science and invited them to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
"These students received perfect scores in math, English language arts, and science," Sharp said, reading the names of high school and elementary recipients and inviting families forward for certificates and photos. Principals from multiple schools—Mountain House High, Altamont, Bethany, Cortis, Costa, Hanson, Cuesta and Wickland—each read the names of their honored students and presented medals.
Superintendent Nicholas told the board the district’s statewide assessment results show a five-point increase in science and that Lammersville ranks number one in science among East Bay high-performing school districts. "We have a new science curriculum the board approved. Our teachers were trained well by our curriculum team," he said, crediting curriculum changes and professional development for the improvement.
The recognition event was structured as a school-by-school round-robin with photo opportunities for families; staff asked parents to wait until each school’s students received medals so that one photograph per school could be taken. The board applauded the students and staff for their performance and coordination of the celebrations.
The district also reported overall enrollment at 8,099 students and said there were no Williams uniform complaints for the quarter. The district did not provide comparative statewide rank details beyond the East Bay peer group presented at the meeting.
