Multiple residents at the March 4 work session urged the county and city to improve public notice practices and begin recording or streaming commission meetings.
Diana Daniels criticized how the city posts zoning notices—she said notices appear in obscure newspaper locations and urged posting on city websites. Commissioner Sasha L. Rittenhouse said statutory newspaper notice is a requirement under the Ohio Revised Code. Commissioner Charles A. Patterson said he supports videoing the county meetings and has discussed the idea with commission candidates and staff, saying minutes are an approximation but video would provide body language and clearer public record.
Commissioners did not adopt any new notice rules at the session but said improved communication is a priority and that staff would explore options for meeting video and broader notice channels.
