The Fayette County Land Bank Board voted Feb. 23 to apply remaining 2025 grant funds toward demolishing two priority structures and to authorize procurement of demolition bids under the 2026 grant.
Mrs. Foor told the board that work tied to the 2025 grant is complete except for spring seeding and that “there is around $38,000 remaining on this grant.” Board member Branen Weade moved to authorize Ramboll to obtain bids for structures listed under the 2026 demolition grant, "prioritizing 1343 Grace Street and 1276 Old St. Rt. 38," and the motion passed on a voice vote called by Chair Tony Anderson.
The board then voted to use the remaining 2025 funds to demolish 1343 Grace Street and 1276 Old St. Rt. 38 and directed that any remaining money be used to restore 726 Rawlings Street to a buildable state. Board members asked staff to request guidance from the Department of Development on the formal process for reallocating or extending grant funds before final implementation.
