Educational volunteer Theresa Slaman told the board about recent student projects, including the Student Art Exhibition held at the Gualala Arts Center and ongoing gardening and classroom activities supported by the Whale Tale Grant. The presentation included photographs and the note that display boards created for projects will be retained at the Kashia administration building.
Board Member Coleen McCloud said she currently has Kashia cultural items that were displayed during the exhibition and intends to reimburse the district for abalone shells and beads used in the exhibit; staff provided guidance on the reimbursement process. The presentation and reports emphasized hands-on student learning and local partnerships.
