Wyoming County Community Hospital reports CT upgrade, EMR rollout and tight receivables

J. Perry of Wyoming County Community Hospital updated the Finance Committee on March 3 about operations and finances, saying the hospital’s new computed tomography (CT) scanner is up and running and that a higher‑resolution, lower‑radiation unit should expand test capability. Perry said a cardiac CT study is now available and an MRI installation is likely in July–August.
Perry also reported the hospital’s electronic medical record (EMR) project is under way, with an expanded go‑live scheduled for January 2027 to improve the patient and provider experience. He said the hospital submitted a change request to the NY State Healthcare Facility Transformation Program (a $14.2 million grant) to reallocate more grant dollars toward equipment purchases and less toward construction.
On finances, Perry said average accounts receivable rose from 67.6 to 69.8 days (approximately $23.6 million) and accounts payable stood near 72.9 days (about $7.1 million). He attributed part of January’s revenue shortfall to a week‑long mobile CT outage and weather cancellations that reduced surgeries, radiology tests and clinic visits.
The committee noted the operational and financial updates and will receive a full quarterly financial report in May. No formal board action on hospital operations was taken at this meeting.
