The Transportation Coordinating Committee voted unanimously April 30 to approve a resolution recommending modifications to the 2026–2031 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) that the Regional Council had approved March 26, 2026. Carlton Christensen, UTA trustee, moved to approve the resolution; Councilmember Dan Dugan seconded and the committee carried the motion without opposition.
Ben Wuthrich, WFRC Transportation Improvement Program Coordinator, told the committee that the March Regional Council action obviated the need for additional procedural steps. "This modification was approved by the Regional Council at their March 26, 2026 meeting but did not require a new air quality conformity analysis or a 30‑day public comment period," Wuthrich said. He referred members to the meeting materials for details on the specific projects included in the modification.
The committee’s action records Trans Com’s formal recommendation to send the modification forward to the Regional Council and State Transportation Commission as appropriate. Meeting materials and the recording are posted on the WFRC website.
