Liz reported the Administration & Facilities Committee met on July 14 at Central Office and summarized committee action items for board consideration.
The committee recommended first readings for updated policies including high school graduation and diplomas, and reviewed policy and regulation updates related to use of physical restraint and seclusion for students with disabilities and student use of internet-enabled devices (Policy 55-16). The committee also recommended abolishing Policy 2363 (student use of privately owned technology) to align district rules with newly issued state guidance and to promote a more coherent policy framework.
Liz said the committee reviewed work with building administrators to restructure school handbooks for greater consistency across schools; those handbooks will be prepared for caregiver acknowledgment in August. The committee also reviewed the district nursing services plan for the 2026–27 school year—covering emergency management and student health care needs—and recommended approval to submit the plan to the county as required.
Other committee items included recommendations to approve several updated job descriptions and discussion of partnerships for building use with local recreation departments. The committee will next meet on August 11 at Central Office.
