Ellis County raises IT Director minimum to master’s degree, reclassifies pay grade

Human Resources Manager Jennifer Taylor told commissioners the updated Information Technology Director job description raises the minimum education requirement to a master’s degree and modifies the cybersecurity certification requirements. Taylor said the change was recommended to keep the position competitive and align the pay grade with the position’s responsibilities.
Commissioner Nathan Leiker moved to approve the updated job description and Commissioner Michael Berges seconded; the motion passed by a voice vote of three to zero. The board record shows the change will reclassify the position to a higher pay grade in accordance with the county’s compensation policy.
