Clay County EMS to bill for non-transport runs starting July 1; remount ambulance expected Q1 2027

Alec Trembath, Clay County EMS Director, told the commissioners that EMS is extremely busy with emergency calls and out-of-town transfers. He reported Medic 4 has returned to service and will handle local runs until the unit is traded in for a remount ambulance expected during the first quarter of 2027.
Trembath said beginning July 1 EMS will be able to bill insurance for non-transport runs with a minimum charge of $250. He also noted AED training for the City of Green is scheduled for July 15 and that painting of the EMS storage container is nearly complete. Trembath presented the proposed 2027 EMS budget, which remains under board review and, if approved, would add several PRN positions to the January 2027 pay scale.
