Board approves temporary teacher contract, cafeteria hire and multiple volunteer coach and band appointments

Following closed session, the board reported out several personnel actions. The trustees approved a short-term temporary teacher contract for Marcus Karby effective Aug. 15–Dec. 19, 2025 to cover for Doug Davis, who was granted sick leave for semester one; that motion carried 5–0. Trustees also approved the employment of Vincent Galvez as a Cafeteria Assistant effective Aug. 15, 2025.
In addition, the board approved volunteer athletic coaches and chaperones for 2025–2026 (including Shaun Ball, Madison Contreras, Taryn lngoyen, Kevin Parkinson, Alisha Cogbum and Maria Contreras) and approved Alexander Jackson as Marching Band Visual Coach with volunteers Brandi Atkins, Rebecca Mcfadden and Arceli Velasquez; all motions carried unanimously as recorded in the minutes. These actions were processed after closed session and recorded in the Sept. 8 minutes.
