Emergency Management reported that Department of Homeland Security grant funds from 2025 have been released and should arrive in the county soon, and outlined planned 2026 requests to fund Clark School camera upgrades and additional county radios. EM Lewis told commissioners he is updating the Local Emergency Operations Plan and expects to complete it sometime this year.
The board discussed the county's burn-ban process; EM Lewis said a burn ban may be needed in the future, but no action was taken. Commissioners approved the Local Emergency Management Performance Grant, which the minutes say provides grant dollars to supplement the emergency manager's salary and expenses. The motion passed on a voice vote with all commissioners recorded as voting aye.
