EMS, Sheriff and Emergency Manager Report Weekly Operations; EMS to Trial Disposable Laryngoscope Blades

Alec Trembath, EMS Director, reported the service is on emergency run number 449 so far this year compared with 438 at the same point in 2025. Trembath said the King Vision reusable video laryngoscope has increased in price and requested permission to try alternate disposable blades that connect to a tablet and cost about $150 each; the Board gave him permission to trial the disposable option.
Sheriff Alan Benninga reported a newly hired deputy had previously approved vacation time and the Board allowed the deputy to use accrued vacation hours before his first-year anniversary. Emergency Manager Jim Bogart said he transported Motorola radios to Topeka last week to have channels added or removed as part of routine maintenance.
