Big Lakes Developmental Center Seeks 2% Increase from Clay County; Wait List Persists

Holle told the Board that Big Lakes is licensed by the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services and provides services to clients in Riley, Geary, Clay, and Pottawatomie counties. She said 21 Clay County residents currently use Big Lakes services, statewide wait lists average 10 years, and nine Clay County residents remain on the local waiting list. The Board indicated it would consider the request during preparation of the 2027 county budget.
