Commissioners set seasonal certified weed-sprayer pay at $21 per hour and authorize annual bids

Weed Supervisor Jenkins discussed seasonal pay for the weed department during the Feb. 3 meeting. Commissioner Terry Schlagel initially moved an increase to $20.00 per hour, then retracted and instead moved (second by David Spieker) to set pay at $21.00 per hour for certified weed sprayer seasonal help; the motion carried with all voting aye.
The board also authorized the weed supervisor to call for yearly bids for weed supplies. The action was recorded in the meeting minutes and will be managed through the county procurement process.
