EDC approves purchase and placement of vending machine in City Hall foyer

A board member (speaker 7) proposed purchasing a soda and snack vending machine for the City Hall foyer to serve increased pedestrian traffic and meetings and to generate modest revenue for events. "I would like to make this purchase. With that, with any revenue that is gained from it, I would like for it to, be put for the hometown Christmas or any of the EDC events that we have," the speaker said.
Board members discussed placement, refrigeration suitability for the foyer area and servicing; after confirming the item exceeded $3,000 and had not been budgeted, the board made a motion to allow the city manager to proceed. The motion was seconded and the board voted unanimously to approve the purchase. The city manager/staff will handle procurement, service logistics and revenue accounting for EDC events.
