Christian told the council the tank is approximately 1,000,000 gallons and that regular maintenance and a 3–5 year cycle are expected; he said the lifecycle with proper maintenance can approach 75 years.
After discussion about ensuring an ongoing maintenance program, the council voted 5–0 to approve the bid process for the elevated tank and directed staff to return with the contract and a recommended maintenance plan.
