Aiken County Council deletes Emergency Services advisory and Communications Center boards despite public plea to retain them

Council adopted an ordinance on third reading deleting Aiken County Code provisions establishing the Emergency Services Advisory Committee (Chapter 11, Article III, sections 11‑28 and 11‑28.1) and the Communications Center Board (Chapter 20, Article II). Councilman Danny Feagin moved approval; Councilman Landon Ball seconded the motion and the ordinance was adopted unanimously.
During the public hearing on this item Bryan Adams asked council to reconsider and to keep the advisory committees active, but the council proceeded with adoption on third reading. The ordinance text and packet reference appear in the council materials (p. 21).
