Kennedale budgets $50,000 for legally required five-year impact-fee update

During the budget review John Horton reminded the council that the city’s impact-fee study has passed the five-year review window required by state law and requires an update.
"Our impact fee study, it's beyond the 5 year review period required by chapter 395 of the Texas local government code," Horton said, and staff left $50,000 in the budget as the funding source to comply with the statutory requirement.
Council did not debate the legal need and treated the line as a required compliance item; Horton said the item was included as a legal requirement in the packet.
