Consultants present phase 1 findings of Kennedale economic development strategic plan

Consultants presenting the market and strategic action plan said phase 1 is largely complete and outlined four ongoing work streams: EDC engagement, a June workshop, a pipeline snapshot of active development, and continued stakeholder outreach. "Phase 1 is largely complete," the presenter said, and the team intends to "test these themes against the real world market and develop data and development data" in phase 2.
The consultant identified recurring themes emerging from community surveys and prior plans, including corridor and gateway image, balancing small-town identity with growth, public safety framed as an under-marketed community strength, and quality-of-life and recreation improvements. The consultant said staff would validate those themes through broker and developer feedback and local absorption trends. Board members asked follow-up questions about outreach, and the presenter confirmed more than 20 stakeholder interviews had been completed and one interview remained outstanding.
