St. Croix County officials say 2027 TAD grant requests $259,365 to support diversion services

St. Croix County staff told the Community Justice Collaborating Council that the county submitted a 2027 Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) grant application to the U.S. Department of Justice at the end of June requesting $259,365, with the state share estimated at $194,524 and a county cash match of $64,841.
Lisa Moltoff, who presented the update, summarized proposed uses for the funds: two staff positions for the diversion program (a case-management specialist and a data-entry specialist), employer benefits for those positions, substance-use assessments coordinated through St. Croix County Behavioral Health and community providers, support for recovery and sober-living placements, transportation assistance, a cognitive behavioral therapy group option and funding for case-management software. "The total grant request for 2027 and beyond is $259,365," Moltoff said. She added the county has finished processing prior grant cycles and expected notification on the 2027 application by late August or early September.
Council members asked clarifying questions about the application and the positions funded. Moltoff said the grant request is modestly smaller than in past years because treatment court is ending and some prior costs have concluded. The council did not take formal action at the meeting; members said they would look for an update at the next CJCC meeting.
