WYEMS signs MOU with hospitals and ambulance providers to sponsor Advanced Life Support training

Wyoming County’s WYEMS will sponsor Advanced Life Support training through a memorandum of understanding with local hospitals, ambulance services and fire departments for Jan. 1, 2026–Dec. 31, 2027; purpose is to enable Advanced EMT students to complete required clinical internships at partner sites.
The committee reviewed an FYI memorandum of understanding under which Wyoming County EMS (WYEMS) will maintain an Advanced Life Support course sponsorship with the New York State Department of Health and multiple partner organizations. Named partners include Arcade, Gainesville, North Java, Pike and Varysburg fire companies; AMR-Buffalo; ALSTAR EMS and several hospitals including Bertrand Chaffee Hospital and United Memorial Medical Center; as well as Mercy Flight and the Wyoming County Community Health System.
The MOU will be effective Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2027 and is intended to let students enrolled in Advanced EMT classes perform required clinical internships at the listed facilities. The minutes list the partner organizations by name; no funding obligations or local cost-sharing provisions are recorded in the minutes for this FYI item.
