Assistant City Manager Darrin LeFevre summarized an ordinance to amend and restate Title 10, Chapter 19D, Section 16 to update improvement completion assurance requirements and clarify installation warranty obligations to align with state law.
LeFevre said the ordinance is intended “to bring current code into compliance with state code.” Attorney Bruce Jenkins explained how the changes relate to the Land Use Development and Management Act (LUDMA). Commissioners debated technical points and then voted unanimously to recommend approval of the ordinance.
The recommendation will be forwarded to City Council for final legislative action; staff said the changes are intended to standardize assurance bonds and warranty terms for public‑improvement work in subdivisions and developments.
