The American Fork City Council on May 12 authorized two service agreements intended to maintain compliance and lower costs.
Council approved a master services agreement with Sunrise Engineering to provide building inspection services. Council Member Ernie John said the firm can help the city comply with a state requirement to provide inspections within three days if staff capacity is insufficient. "If they do not have enough staff, they can utilize Sunrise Engineering to comply with the law," the minutes record.
The council also accepted a request for proposal from Infrastructure Power Group and authorized the city administrator to enter into a professional services agreement for street-light repair, construction and maintenance, with councilors describing the contract as an opportunity to save money without reducing service levels. Both motions passed with the four members present voting yes.
