On May 12 the American Fork City Council approved a resolution stating its intent to consider a property tax rate that could exceed the county-certified rate and set a Truth-in-Taxation public hearing for Aug. 11, 2026.
Finance Director Anna Montoya told the council the certified tax rate will be provided by the county in mid-June; the council’s resolution records that intent and establishes a hearing date so the public can participate if the city later proposes a rate above the certified rate. Council Member Hunter moved approval and Council Member John seconded; the resolution passed with Council Members Holley, Hunter, John and Taylor voting yes.
The resolution does not itself change tax rates; it records the council’s procedural intent and schedules the public hearing that would be required before any final rate is adopted.
