The Alma City Council authorized the golf board to move forward with a $30,000 loan to complete a golf parking project, citing higher-than-expected expenses primarily due to concrete costs. The motion to allow the loan was made by Joel Wheeler, seconded by Chris Mahalek, and carried on a roll call vote with Moulton, Mahalek, Casper and Wheeler voting yes.
Council discussion included Wheeler’s suggestion to reallocate unexpended Recreation Department funds remaining in the current fiscal year as an alternative funding source; the council agreed to re-evaluate that option at a future meeting after determining the remaining needs of the ballfields.
